Folic Acid query Options

Hi

I'm very confused! Confused

Started my MTX injection yesterday, went to the mtx clinic and there was a couple of us that were given advice on how to use and inject. Im a wimp, so my husband come with me. Think him being there helped with the nerves in the group as he just doesn't stop talking! LOL

The nurse said that we need to take folic acid two days before and two days after the injection, but didn't say what dose? The supply i have from when i took mtx as tablets was 5mg, but i cant remember how much i took.

I need to take folic acid tomorrow so i cant get hold of the nurse now, so not sure what does to take, just wondered what everyone else takes?

Hi Lou,

You should take the 5mg tablets, just one tablet at a time.
Like the nurse has told you, take one 5mg tablet two days before the injection and one two days after.
Hope that makes sense!
